Men who bedwet

Don't tell anyone, I am embarrased. Sound familiar? Yep, but most men wet the bed at some time in their life, from a small child through to adolecense and into teens and adult hood. Stress is the biggest cause, especially when as teens you are facing exams. But sometimes this can continue into adult life. Many try to hide it but few succeed. It is not shamefull. It is a natural part of the body and mind. Some men sleep soundly especially after a few beers down the pub and do not wake up when nature takes its course. We can overcome this embarrasment, we just have to take responsibility of our shortcommings.

Bed protection

As a bedwetter, I have tried many different ways to protect my bed. There are several on the market from disposable partial pads to full matress covers, matress protectors and vinyl sheets.

Disposable pads only cover a small area and unless they can be tucked under the matress at both ends, will move and bunch up. These are ok for a single bed but not so good on a double or larger bed. They are great for when you travel as they are easy to store in the suit case and easy to dispose of if they get wet. Being a fibre one side and vinyl or plastic the other, they are comfortable to sleep directly on top of.

Full matress covers are good if you have a standard sized bed, single, double or queen. However, king single, deep sided double or queen and king size all miss out. Manufacturers will make a special order if you ask but the cost is high. Plastic is the best here for they are cheap and can be wiped down in case of an accident.

Fibre filled matress protectors are also very good as they can be washed and dried easily. They are usually a nylon or polyester fibre and absorb liquids well. Seldom does the moisture leak past and onto the matress. These also protect the matress from sweat and body oils. They are usually hypoallergenic so do not cause problems with allergies.

Vinyl sheeting is my personal favorite. You can usually buy to a specific size so for those with non standard beds, this product will serve your needs best. I place my sheet directly over the vinyl and do not have any problems with sweating, and I live in the hot tropics. The vinyl is usually the soft plyable type and I also have matching pillow covers, as we bedwetters always dribble and if the bed does get wet, the wetness can travel upwards and cause the pillow to get wet or damp as a result.

So check out the fetish outlets for the vinyl sheeting, or failing that the internet. matress protection is the best protection you can get when you are protected or not as even being protected leakage can still occur.
